 FORMATTING PARAGRAPH – BOLD, ITALICS, UNDERLINE, BULLETS AND NUMBERING

To format text in Microsoft Word with bold, italics, underline, bullets, and numbering, follow these steps:







 

### 1. *Bold, Italics, and Underline Text*

 

1. *Select the text* you want to format.

2. *Bold:*

   - Click the *Bold* button on the *Home* tab (it looks like a "B").

   - Or press Ctrl + B on your keyboard.

3. *Italics:*

   - Click the *Italic* button on the *Home* tab (it looks like an "I").

   - Or press Ctrl + I on your keyboard.

4. *Underline:*

   - Click the *Underline* button on the *Home* tab (it looks like a "U" with a line underneath).

   - Or press Ctrl + U on your keyboard.

 

### 2. *Create Bulleted Lists*

 

1. *Select the text* you want to turn into a list (if it's not already in a list format).

2. Click the *Bullets* button on the *Home* tab (it looks like three bullets in a vertical list).

3. Alternatively, you can:

   - Click the drop-down arrow next to the Bullets button to choose a bullet style.

   - Select the desired bullet style from the options provided.

 

### 3. *Create Numbered Lists*

 

1. *Select the text* you want to turn into a numbered list.

2. Click the *Numbering* button on the *Home* tab (it looks like three lines numbered 1, 2, 3).

3. Alternatively, you can:

   - Click the drop-down arrow next to the Numbering button to choose a numbering style.

   - Select the desired numbering style from the options provided.

### Adding a Page Border

 

1. *Open your Word document.*

2. Go to the *Design* tab on the Ribbon.

3. Click on *Page Borders* in the Page Background group.

4. In the Borders and Shading dialog box, select the *Page Border* tab.

5. Choose the border settings you want:

   - *Style:* Select a line style.

   - *Color:* Choose a color for your border.

   - *Width:* Set the thickness of the border line.

   - *Art:* Select a decorative border from the Art drop-down list if desired.

6. In the *Apply to* drop-down menu, choose whether you want the border on the whole document, the first page only, or specific sections.

7. Click *OK* to apply the border.
